Core Merfolk Magazine was made to connect other like-minded people together and to show them how to live a more mermaid-themed life. The layout was done to help showcase the photographs in balance with the written articles.

The feature article , Ebb & Flow, showcased Raina the Mermaid. The layout focused on showcasing her strength while the article spoke to the hardships she had endured.​
